In parts West Africa, Cowrie Shells represent money and wealth. It’s said that they were once used as currency. Cowrie Shells are a big part of African Spirituality. They are a representation of the water spirits of African spirituality who are the keepers and givers of wealth and riches. Cowrie Shells also represent abundance and fertility. Cowrie Shells can also be used as a divination tool. You can divine yes or no questions with 5 Cowrie Shells. 3 facing up can mean yes or no. Or 2 facing up can mean yes or no. Once you connect with your tools and set the rules for communication, you will know which means which.
