This recipe is simple, effective, low-waste, and environmentally friendly. The Pumpkin Spice comes from an essential oil blend. You may omit this entirely or choose any fragrances of your choice. Popular options: lavender, citruses, and mints. The following blends should be stored in a 10mL glass dropper bottle (preferably amber or any dark color). Do not use the entire blend in the recipe. The recipe calls for only 50 drops of your scent of choice.
Pumpkin Spice Oil Blend
- 40 drops copaiba oleoresin essential oil
- 32 drops cinnamon bark (or cassia) essential oil
- 20 drops clove bud essential oil
- 20 drops vanilla essential oil
- 14 drops sweet orange essential oil
- 10 drops nutmeg essential oil
- 7 drops ginger root extract or ginger essential oil
Frosted Pumpkin Oil Blend
- 35 drops cassia essential oil
- 20 drops nutmeg essential oil
- 15 drops eucalyptus essential oil
- 10 drops cedarwood essential oil
- 7 drops ginger root essential oil

What You'll Need:
- Measuring Cups
- (2) 32 oz mason jars with lids or (1) 64 oz mason jar with lid
- 1 cup Epsom Salt
- 3 cups Sodium Bicarbonate (baking soda)
- 3 cups Sodium Carbonate (washing soda)
- 1/2 cup sea salt
- 50 drops essential oil (optional)
Mix all ingredients together and store in air-tight glass mason jars. (Bonus points if you repurpose jars from your pantry!) Use one heaping tablespoon per regular load. For larger loads or heavily soiled loads, you may use two tablespoons. For top-loading washers, pour right into the drum with your clothes.
