The ancient druids revered meadowsweet as one of nature's most sacred plants. It has many spiritual benefits and is often used to attract love and happiness, and is also helpful for anyone who needs to develop the self-confidence to fully embrace the goddess energy within themselves. Meadowsweet has also been referred to as the queen of the meadow, pride of the meadow, meadow-wort, meadow queen, lady of the meadow, dollof, meadsweet, and bridewort. It is associated with Venus, Morrigan, Blodeuwedd, Aine + Gwena.
Meadowsweet contains a compound similar to aspirin and is useful in reducing pain and inflammation, but can take 6-8 hours to start acting. It settles the stomach and acts as a natural antacid. It also contains silica, which aids the skin, joints, and connective tissues.
*Do not give to small children. It can cause nausea + vomiting in large doses.
